Outreach advocates lead multiple support groups and help survivors with safety planning, linkage to shelter, supportive counseling and advocacy on their behalf in the community. Support groups are available for both English and Spanish speakers.
Offices are located in Tampa and Plant City, and our rural advocate visits smaller communities located in the eastern part of our county to support survivors when transportation is a barrier.
Our Tampa Outreach Office is staffed Monday through Friday during regular business hours and may be reached by calling (813) 749-8764. This line is not staffed during nights or weekends.
The Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team (InVEST) was originally created in Jacksonville to increase victim safety in the most potentially lethal cases. Our InVEST advocate works with local law enforcement to identify victims and survivors of domestic violence at high risk of being murdered by their partners. Our advocate reaches out to survivors to offer safety planning information and services, while our law enforcement partners implement measures to hold batterers accountable.
Child Welfare Partnership
Advocates are co-located with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Child Protection Investigation Division and with Eckerd Connects/Community Alternatives Hillsborough’s child welfare service providers. This partnership bridges the gap between child welfare and domestic violence service providers to enhance family safety, create permanency for children, reduce removals of children from non-offending parents, and hold batterers accountable.
